Sauteed Zucchini with Parmesan

8 medium zucchiniOlive oil2 large yellow onions cut in half and sliced Kosher saltFreshly ground black pepper1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheeseRemove the ends of the zucchini and cut in half lengthwise.
