The Avandia Controversy

Avandia, also known by its generic name rosiglitazone, is an oral medication used to reduce elevated blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It works to lower blood sugar levels by decreasing insulin resistance in muscles and organs and is a member of the thiazolidinedione (TZD) category of drugs.
